Exterior plywood sheets consist of a core engineered using either hardwood or softwood, then faced and backed with stain grade wood or veneer finish hardwood.
They are made stronger (then standard ply) for weather resistance, although edges must be sealed to avoiding water ingress, therefore boiling. An upgrade to exterior ply is Marine Ply where waterproof adhesive is used making it suitable for very wet areas.
