Pages

Standard pages – those that appear in the main menu – are accessed via the Pages tab, and can be edited in Visual or Text mode. Pages can be published, saved as draft or updated via the Publish panel at the top right of the sidebar. Images and other media can be added via the ‘Add Media’ button and aligned as required. The right column ‘Page Attributes’ panel is used to select the correct template for the page, and the page headline initially inherits its page title.

The inner page header images are set via the Featured image panel in the right hand column, the initial image size here is 1600px wide x 350px height to cover larger screens.

We use a second featured image for the thumbnail links, these are added in the Featured Image 2 panel where the images should be cropped as appropriate to 460px wide.

Pricing tables

The child pages use the Pricing table field to show prices, where you add/remove extra rows and columns with the + and – selectors, then click on the cell to enter the details via a pop-up.

You’ll also see the Trade discount field, which outputs the value entered on the page (ie x%) as We offer a x% trade discount.

Contemporary Fencing page
This page uses a different table style. To update, admin > TablePress > All Tables > Lateral Trellis & Contemporary Fencing.

In the Table Content panel, open out the relevant cell to see the copy to update, then Save Changes when you’re done.

Slider

Slideshows are set in the Sliders tab, with slides added and edited in the Slides tab for their particular slider. The ‘Slider wrapper width’ should be set at 1650px, which is the maximum for the centre column layout.

Each slideshow should use images of the same size, either at 706px wide or by otherwise selecting the ‘Automatically crop and resize ..’ option. They are displayed using a shortcode, ie [masterslider id=”1″].

Headline overrides, SEO

You’ll see the Custom Fields panel for setting particular content (ie ‘Page Headline’ for overriding the default page headline. There is also the ‘WordPress SEO by Yoast’ panel (underneath the main page editor) for fine-tuning title/meta information and checking keywords.

If these are not initially visible, they can be selected via the ‘Screen Options’ tab in the top right of the admin screen.
